The linen fragment with embroidery in multicolored silk thread is decorated with six-sided medallions, each containing a standing duck with a ribbon tied to its head. In between the medallions are floral designs. This band of floral designs is surrounded by two narrow bands decorated with pearl dots.
At the top and bottom of the textile fragment are Kufic inscriptions beginning with the basmala, a basic Islamic invocation found in the first verse of the Qur'an, executed in red thin thread. |
